Our student council is very active and takes place all year round. Boys and girls from third, fourth, and fifth grade may participate in this activity. Here are a few things that our student council sponsors: Read Across America Day, Concession Stand, Teacher Breakfast, Spirit Days, & St. Jude Math-a-Thon. Elections are held at the beginning of each school year.
Students learn basic volleyball skills and play games using rally scoring. The tournament is held on the last few days of the volleyball intramurals where the students play for school champions. Boys and girls in the third through fifth grade are able to participate in this activity. Volleyball takes place in the month of November every year. On average we have 70-80 participants.
The girls engage in various fundamentals and skill development in a recreational atmosphere of basketball. Skills and tactics of the sport are taught along with positive character enhancement. Girls in the third through the fifth grade can participate in this activity. Girl’s basketball takes place in late October and into the middle of November.
The boys engage in various fundamentals and skill development in a recreational atmosphere of basketball. Skills and tactics of the sport are taught along with positive character enhancement. Boys in the third through the fifth grade can participate in this activity. Basketball intramurals start in the month of December, and basketball tryouts and practice begin in January.
Jeffersonville High School wrestlers coach the students in basic wrestling moves. At the end of the eight day clinic, they have a main event at Jeffersonville High school for all participants. Boys and girls in the second through fifth grade are able to participate in this activity. Wrestling takes place in the month of March every year. On average we have 30-40 participants.
The students learn how practice, discipline, and perseverance can help them become the best long-distance runner they can be. Boys and girls in the fourth and fifth grade can participate in this activity. There are no try-outs. However, the student must be willing to come to every practice ready to work hard and give 110% effort! Cross Country takes place in the Spring.
The students will practice sprints, relays, and middle distance events. Boys and girls in the third through fifth grade are able to participate in this activity. Track takes place in the months of April and May every year.

 

 

Boys Basketball and Girls Cheerleading Tryout Information

Boy’s Basketball Tryouts: All 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade boys interested in trying out for the basketball team need to participate in intramural sessions on January 4th, January 5th, and January 9th from 3:35-4:30 p.m. with Coach Posey.
